Mobile Crane 60 Tonnes
Course Description
This course aims to enable participants to gather the required knowledge and skills needed to operate a mobile crane with a maximum rated capacity (MRC) of up to 60 tonnes in a safe manner.
Who Is This Course For?
Anyone who wants to learn crane handling and maintenance and those who have been trained by field practices only but haven’t been a part of any formal course on crane handling can opt for this course.
Prerequisite
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Must have 100 points of valid identification
- USI number (Go to Usi.gov.au)
Goals Of the Mobile Crane 60 Tonnes Course
Some of the goals are to enable participants to
- Plan for an effective operation of a mobile crane (up to 60 tonnes capacity) following safety protocols
- Conduct routine pre and post-operational crane checks
- Report damage or defects if found
- Set up the crane correctly
- Use controls, outriggers, and safety equipment
- Move loads skilfully
- Understand the load charts
- Communicate effectively with other workers on the site
