Scaffolding (Basic level)
Course Description
Scaffolding work refers to putting up, changing, or taking down a temporary structure that is used to protect a work platform, where there is a risk of a person or object falling more than 2 metres down.
To perform basic scaffolding work you need to have a Basic Scaffolding – SB high-risk work license.
Basic scaffolding work includes modular or prefabricated scaffolds, cantilevered hoist with a maximum working load of 500 kg (materials only), gin wheels, safety nets and static lines, ropes, and bracket scaffolds.
This course aims to train participants with the knowledge and skills required to put up, change and take down scaffolding at the basic level.
Who Is This Course For?
Anyone at least 18 years old intending to work in this field can opt for this course.
Prerequisite
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Must have 100 points of valid identification
- USI number (Go to Usi.gov.au)
Goals of Scaffolding (Basic level)
Some of the goals are
- To enable participants with skills to install and dismantle scaffolding and also to alter it
- To enable participants to understand worksite risk and mitigate that by skilfully handling the scaffolding work
